AfroCannes is delighted to welcome Film Edge as a collaborative partner. FilmHedge is fin-tech platform providing financing to Film/TV productions with total budgets between $1 and $50 million. FilmHedge is also an industry leader in providing risk and credit data to institutional capital (hedge funds, private equity, investment banks etc.) aiming to improve their media investment strategies. Backed by $100 million credit facility and venture capital firms (WOCStar, Triple Point and Collab Capital).Film Edge CEO, Mr. Jon Gosier will be joining AfroCannes to share more about his company and projects.

AfroCannes will honor the career and the life of Mr. Harry Belafonte with a discussion led by Mr. Jimmy Jean-Louis, actor and producer from Haiti.

AfroCannes is delighted to welcome HollyShorts Film Festival as a collaborative partner. The HollyShorts Film Festival is an annual Academy Award®-qualifying independent short film festival located in Hollywood, California and co-founded by Mr. Theo Dumont.

AfroCannes has partnered with the African Pavilion, a initiative led by Aminata Diop-Johnson, founder of ACA (African Cultural Agency). Every year at Cannes Film Festival since 2019, the African Pavilion hosts African filmmakers in their pavilion at the Village. In 2023, the African Pavilion will have a stand within the Palais des Festival. AfroCannes participants with Marché du Film accreditation are welcome to go there to attend events and networking sessions.

The Cannes Film Festival has unveiled its official poster, legendary French actress Catherine Deneuve is this year's egerie. At AfroCannes, during the festival, we will honor a host of filmmakers who have contributed handsomely to the growth and rise of African cinema and diverse and inclusive story-telling. Program

Launched in 2022, AfroCannes is an event organized by Yanibes during the Cannes Film Festival in May in Cannes, France. 

AfroCannes is a two-day event featuring panel discussions, country highlights, presentations, screenings, cocktails and tributes.

 

AfroCannes aims at promoting diversity, inclusion in film across the industry. AfroCannes connects creatives, businesses and stakeholders from the entire film ecosystem at the world premiere film gathering; The Cannes Film Festival.
