Special Submission
Description: The AfroCannes Special Submission is a curated opportunity for production companies, studios, platforms, or partner organizations seeking to identify and connect with new creative projects.
Through a dedicated call coordinated by AfroCannes on behalf of these partners, filmmakers and creators are invited to submit projects aligned with specific thematic, production, or market interests.
Selected submissions are then highlighted during AfroCannes, offering visibility to creators while enabling partners to discover promising content, talent, and collaboration opportunities within the African and diaspora creative ecosystem.
Format: Announcement and presentation of selected projects submitted through a partner-led call for submissions, with brief introductions to the projects and the partner organization’s focus.
Duration: 30–45 minutes
Moderation: Led by an AfroCannes program moderator or a representative of the partner organization initiating the call.
Extra: Selected projects may be accompanied by short teasers, visual materials, or project summaries illustrating their concept and development stage.
Purpose: To connect creators with production companies, studios, or industry partners seeking new content, while creating a structured pathway for talent discovery, collaboration, and potential development or acquisition opportunities.
