Founder 

Prudence Kolong is a business consultant,  film producer, cultural strategist, and founder of the Yanibes Foundation, an international platform dedicated to advancing African and diasporic storytelling through industry collaboration, professional development, and global cultural exchange.

 

Her work focuses on building bridges between African, European, and international film ecosystems while creating access points for emerging filmmakers seeking entry into the global market.

She is the creator of AfroCannes and AfroBerlin, two influential industry gatherings held during the Cannes Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival. These platforms convene filmmakers, producers, distributors, investors, and cultural leaders to foster co-production opportunities, strengthen professional networks, and expand the global visibility of African and diaspora as well as under-represented communities cinema.

She is credited as a producer or associate producer on several film projects.

  • Her work includes:

    • The White Line  by Desiree Kahikopo Meiffret (Namibia) – producer (2019)

    • The Umbrella Men by John Barker (South Africa) – associate producer (2022)

    • Rumba Royale by Hamed Mobasser and Joan Dean Lengol (DR Congo) – associate producer (2025)

    • Invisible Kaunapawa by Joel Haikili and Sophie Kabongo (Namibia) – producer (2019)

 

Through her work across production, industry programming, and cultural diplomacy, Prudence Kolong advocates for narrative sovereignty, equitable representation, and the development of sustainable creative infrastructures for African and diaspora filmmakers.
